This project by McKenzie Higham Architecture, Wellington, was a site wide, multi stage redevelopment of an existing showroom, parts and service centre.

Jeff’s role while employed by McKenzie Higham Architecture was as project architect. He was involved in all stages of the project including:

  • Pre-design
  • Concept, preliminary and developed design stages
  • Team leader for detailed design and documentation packages
  • Tendering
  • On-site architect for observation of the project
  • Administration of the construction contract

“During 2008-2009, Mitsubishi undertook a 3-stage redevelopment of its Wellington dealership, a project for a gross value (inclusive of all fees) of approximately $2m.

Mitsubishi had engaged McKenzie Higham Architecture for all architectural services and as the project manager for all stages of construction. Jeff was the lead architect assigned to these tasks and was intimately involved in all aspects of its design and execution.

The project was complicated by the need to maintain normal business activities during all stages of construction, so the role of the project manager became critical to balancing relationships and tolerances, particularly between our tenant dealer and the building contractor.

Jeff is to be complimented for his excellent professional skills. The project was completed to a very high standard and to the total satisfaction of all parties.

All throughout, Jeff maintained prompt and accurate communications and project reporting to Mitsubishi. Jeff has an easy-going style and was great to work with. We could not have asked for a better service and would happily engage him again.

The Northland region has gained an excellent architect and project manager in Jeff Brickell.”
